If you are tired of the typical beach hotel, get ready, because the Magic Robin Hood (Benidorm) is not just a hotel; it is a trip to the Middle Ages. From the moment you cross the door, you are surrounded by statues, wood, carriages and “dirt roads that take you to the villages”.

It is so well themed that you really come to live an experience , not just to sleep. Of course, maintaining this movie set scenery costs money, so we are talking about a high end resort with a matching price. After staying there, I come to tell you if it is really worth it to pay that extra. Spoiler: I was there 3 days and they felt very short.

My quick opinion after staying

My quick opinion

I give it a 9/10 . For me, it is one of the best family resorts I have been to in Spain. Everything is thought out for you to have fun: from the giant slides to the shows .

You know that you are going to have luxury vacations and that everything is going to work correctly. The biggest problem? The WiFi . For a resort of this category and price, it is unacceptable that the connection is practically useless (it drops after 5 minutes). But if you come to disconnect and to enjoy with the children, it is a place that you are not going to forget.

The best and the worst (Pros and Cons)

The best

  • The theming: it is brutal. Not only at the entrance, but in every corner, street and restaurant of the resort.
  • Incredible cabins: we stayed in a premium cabin with a jacuzzi and an indoor slide for the children.
  • The Medieval Challenge: the jousting dinner-show was one of the best moments of the trip.
  • Attention to detail: even the entrance has Balinese beds so you can wait comfortably for the bus or taxi.
  • Cleanliness: everything around the resort felt very well maintained.

The worst

  • The WiFi: disastrous. It is impossible to connect in a stable way. If you need to use the computer, you are going to suffer.
  • The price: this is a high-end option, not a resort for tight budgets.
  • Best age range: if your children are under 7, they may not get full value from the giant slides, laser tag and bigger activities.

The Accommodation: Cabins with Jacuzzi and an indoor slide

Here there are no small rooms; you sleep in independent wooden cabins (Forest Village type). We stayed in one of the superior cabins (with private jacuzzi on the terrace) and the space is perfect even for large families . You have a main room with a double bed and its own bathroom, another extra bathroom and a living room. Any child’s dream: the children’s room had two beds below and another two in a loft. The best? They had a slide inside the room itself to go down from the top bed! An absolute 10 in family design.

Two worlds of water: Relax vs Adrenaline

Two worlds of water

The resort divides its water zones very well so that there is no chaos:

  • The relax zone: it is the quietest. It has a pool with loungers inside the water, bars, beach bars and a splash water park for children up to 8 years old where you can also play with water guns.
  • The slides and main pool zone: the visually most spectacular part. Super high slides, zones to slide down with donuts (single or double) and attractions with different levels of speed. Pure adrenaline.

It has several slide towers (for different ages) and besides, a mini water park for the little ones.

Gastronomy and the Medieval Challenge (The main course)

You eat very well, but the concept is different from other hotels:

  • The main buffet: it is like the typical ones of a good 4 stars, with quite some variety and a lot of food focused on the children.
  • The gourmet buffet: we loved it. For the children it works like a normal buffet (so they eat fast and what they like), but for the adults it is like an a la carte restaurant where you order starters and main dishes of very good quality.
  • Rice restaurant: we ate at the paella restaurant enlivened with live music . Very, very delicious.

The medieval challenge: you have to live it. The fights of the knights on horseback seem super real. The children get into the role 100%, screaming and cheering for their team. The food accompanies the theme: you eat roasted meat and “poor man’s” chicken with your hands, simulating the era. Super fun!

Beyond the water: climbing wall and gamers

Beyond the water

If you get tired of soaking, the resort has an arsenal of extra activities that greatly expand the vacations:

  • Game experience & laser tag: a brutal video game room with simulators, virtual reality and last generation consoles to pass the time.
  • Multiadventure: they have zip lines and a climbing wall with different levels of difficulty.

If you are an active family, you are not going to sit still. Many sports: soccer tennis zones, tracks to skate, soccer field and like this I could be all day.

Final Verdict: For whom do I recommend it?

My Honest Opinion

The Final Verdict

For whom do I recommend it?

Perfect For

  • You travel with children older than 7 who want action, giant slides, video games and immersive shows.
  • You have a high budget and want an experience that goes beyond the classic sun-and-beach holiday.
  • You want a spacious cabin with separate rooms , family-friendly details and enough space for a larger group.
  • You like hotels where the theming is part of the trip , not just decoration at reception.

Skip It If

  • You need to work remotely during your holiday. The WiFi can drive you crazy.
  • You are travelling with a baby or very small children aged 2-4 and will not use many of the bigger attractions.
  • You are looking for cheap and quiet beachfront holidays . This is an expensive, active resort away from the classic beach-hotel format.
  • You prefer a simple hotel where you only sleep and go out. Here you are paying for the whole resort experience.
