The 1 1 Best Family Hotels in Spain
I’ll help you choose the best hotel for your holiday
Having visited over 120 hotels in Spain and worldwide, I now present Spain’s best hotels for 2025 to help you choose your perfect vacation.
Remember: Prices rise as summer approaches. Current rates are much cheaper, but they’ll gradually double by peak season.
If you find a hotel with suitable dates/pricing, book it immediately (preferably with free cancellation) – don’t wait! (Like flights, prices jump when you least expect it).
#1. Best Cap Salou
- Personal rating: 8/10
- Google rating: 3,7/5
- Salou, Catalonia
- 20 min from Tarragona Airport & 1 h from Barcelona Airport
- PROS
- Nice waterslide area
- Water park for little ones
- Right in front of the beach
- Spa area
- CONS
- Main pool is a bit small (although most kids are in the water park and most adults at the beach)
If you enjoy the beach and want your kids to have a great water park (for children up to 14), the Best Cap Salou is an affordable all-inclusive option.
The beach is small (mostly just for hotel guests), quite sheltered, and literally steps away from the hotel.
The main pool has a large water park for kids, including a shallow pirate ship pool and 2 play areas. There are 5 slides for ‘all ages,’ with fun options up to 12–13 years old.
In terms of value, this is one of the best hotels I’ve tried. Prices rise sharply as summer approaches, so book now if you can.
#2. Hotel Alone
- Google rating: 4,2/5
- Benidorm
- Low cost, high quality
- 45 min from Alicante Airport
- PROS
- Waterslides
- Pool with Jacuzzi
- Good quality food
- Comfy beds
- Great value for money if booked in advance
- CONS
- Not many downsides to this hotel…
Probably one of the cheapest and best family hotels of 2025.
That said, book early because this hotel raises prices dramatically as summer approaches. (I’m writing this on April 1st).
It features two outdoor pools, one more family-oriented with a water slide for kids.
The restaurant is generally good and the beach is 700m away. We rarely find hotels like this.
#3. Magic Robin Hood
- Google rating: 4,3/5
- l´Alfas del Pi, Alicante
- 50 min from Alicante Airport
- PROS
- Plenty of waterslide areas
- Suitable for every family member
- Gym and spa
- Accommodation with private Jacuzzi
- CONS
- The all-you-can-eat buffet is a bit underwhelming
Without a doubt, it’s one of Spain’s best resorts, Magic Robin Hood with a medieval theme, plenty of slides, and a wide variety of activities and shows—it’s the childhood vacation we all dreamed of.
What stands out most about this resort is the number of slides and water zones for little ones—it will truly leave you amazed.
Not a downside (since you can cook in your accommodation), but the food (which is good) isn’t what you’d expect from a resort of this caliber.
#4. Holiday World Polynesia Hotel
- Personal rating: 8,5/10
- Google rating: 4,2/5
- Málaga
- 25 min from Málaga Airport
- PROS
- Beautifully themed hotel
- Very spacious rooms
- Well-organised entertainment
- Pools, kids’ play areas, and a lazy river
- CONS
- Some services aren’t included in the all-inclusive (parking, float rings, and popcorn)
I’ve stayed at this water slide resort twice, and both experiences were good. The second time was better than the first because I already knew the facilities and have some tips to share with you.
First, let me tell you about the negatives – there were few for me, but they should be mentioned. The popcorn costs extra even with all-inclusive, and you can’t take water bottles to go.
The positive is that you can walk to the beach from the hotel. There’s a little bridge that crosses the road to the pirate-themed pool with tube slides and even a soccer field with coaches – it’s like a small water park within the resort.
The rooms are spacious – you won’t feel cramped like in hotels with small rooms. Here I give them a 10/10.
It also has a game area, decent-sized spa, and gym (which I didn’t try so can’t comment).
An important detail: the hotel is far from downtown – it’s a 30-minute drive to Málaga.
#5. Albir Garden
- Google rating: 4,15
- L´Alfàs del Pi, Alicante
- 40 min from Alicante Airport
- PROS
- 2 water parks
- Large relaxing pools
- Full spa
- CONS
- Limited variety of accommodation options
A mid-to-high priced water slide hotel in Alicante that’s one of the most fun in the area – its aquapark for kids over 8 is excellent.
The pools have extended opening hours, and sometimes you can even swim at night with the pools lit up, which is really cool.
The water park is impressive (minimum height: 1.10m) with long, spiral slides that even parents can enjoy. Right opposite is the pool with slides and water jets for younger kids (also 1.10m height limit), though little ones need adult supervision.
The only downside is the lack of accommodation variety – you can’t choose more luxurious, budget, or spacious options.
#6. Fergus Club Mallorca Waterpark
- Google rating: 3,7/5
- Magaluf, Mallorca
- 20 min from Palma de Mallorca Airport
- PROS
- Water parks for all ages
- Several shallow pools for the little ones
- Relaxing lake‑style pools
- Excellent location
- CONS
- Pools close a bit early for my liking
What I love most about Hotel Fergus are its family-friendly water facilities – I highly recommend it if you want your kids playing in the water all day.
It features 11 slides emptying into the pool, catering to all ages and preferences – from fast/high ones to gentler, curved or covered slides.
Plus, it has special areas for little ones: shallow pools with mini-slides and water hills to ‘climb’.
#7. Htop L´Azure
- Personal rating: 9,0/10
- Google rating: 4,3/5
- Lloret de Mar
- 20 min from Girona Airport
- PROS
- Children’s splash area
- 3 swimming pools
- Adults‑only spa and gym
- Top‑quality buffet food
- CONS
- Parking in the area is difficult
This is an exceptionally peaceful hotel with top-notch facilities and amazing buffet and à la carte restaurants.
It features a chill-out area by the main pool and splash zone for kids downstairs, while upstairs you’ll find a rooftop infinity pool plus an adults-only spa.
I recommend it to couples with young kids – thanks to the mini club, parents can enjoy the adults-only facilities, which are truly exceptional.
#8. Magic Natura
- Google rating: 4,3/5
- Alicante
- 40 min from Alicante Airport
- PROS
- Large water park
- Natura Zoo
- Bungalows with private Jacuzzi
- High-quality all-inclusive
- CONS
- Limited variety in the buffet food
A resort that will take your breath away – this massive complex offers multiple accommodation types, featuring a water park and even a zoo (unique among Alicante’s slide hotels).
Beyond that, it boasts 2 infinity pools in the Java/Bali zones with jacuzzis I adore, plus kid-friendly pools with mini-slides and splash areas.
Important notes: Book themed restaurants early (they fill fast), same for pool loungers. I recommend the all-inclusive option – their food trucks and all-day drinks are fantastic.
#9. Golden Taurus
- Google rating: 4,4/5
- Salou. Cataluña
- 50 min from Barcelona Airport
- PROS
- The best waterslides
- Pools with hydromassage jets
- Spacious rooms
- Spa area
- CONS
- The buffet isn’t the greatest
The Costa Brava hotel with the best water slides – they’re absolutely mind-blowing and rival those at water parks.
Kids will love the animation team and mini club, packed with daily activities and evening shows. Adults can enjoy relaxation pools with hydro-jets and a quality indoor spa.
#10. Apartaments Els Llorers
- Google rating: 4,1/5
- Calella, Cataluña
- 25 min from Girona Airport
- PROS
- Kids’ water parks
- Pools surrounded by grass
- Spacious apartments with a kitchen
- CONS
- No meal plans available
These apartments have a kitchen and offer great space for 4 people, with a sofa bed in the living room.
They’re a great option, with their water facilities (I love that they’re surrounded by grass instead of hard or slippery surfaces) and a kids’ play area in the middle of the splash pool for ages up to 10.
#11. Hotel Jaime I
- Personal rating: 7/10
- Google rating: 3,6/5
- Salou, Cataluña
- 20 min from Reus Airport
- PROS
- Waterslides for everyone
- Several large pools
- Great entertainment team
- CONS
- Repetitive all-you-can-eat buffet
Good hotel for affordable vacations in one of Spain’s most touristic areas, Salou.
The hotel has many snack bars, entertainment zones, and several pool and slide areas to keep everyone entertained.
It also features heated pools in a wellness-style area.
That said, it’s somewhat noisy and the buffet could be improved.
#2. Pirates Village Club
- Personal rating: 9,0/10
- Google rating: 4,4/5
- Mallorca
- PROS
- Family-themed hotel
- Very fun pirate shows
- Excellent ratings
- CONS
- Prices are high in summer (in line with its category)
We stayed for 3 nights at this family-themed hotel and it was spectacular.
The shows are incredible: professional actors and dancers, quality costumes, daily performances… Some of the most fun and well-produced shows I’ve seen in years of hotel stays.
The pools were equally entertaining – you’d see parents playing in the water with their kids, jumping in, children with floaties on the slides… really great vibes.
Best part? The pool slides start at age 2 (they have tiny slides for little ones and bigger ones for kids up to 8).
Food was good – not the best buffet I’ve tried but solid (I’d give it 7/10). Attentive chefs, good quality and variety… no complaints.
The pirate-themed hotel decor completes the experience – you don’t just get a vacation, but a full immersive experience. That’s why I give it a personal 9/10 rating.
Shows are in English since it’s technically British territory haha.
#12. Alannia Resorts
- Personal rating: 10/10
- Google rating: 4,3/5
- Alicante.
- 25 min from Alicante Airport
- PROS
- Multiple water slide areas
- Separate zones for the family pool and aquapark
- Spa and gym
-
Well-organised dining system
- CONTRAS
-
Pools close a bit early in summer (in my opinion)
Alannia Costa Blanca is one of the best campsites with water slides in Europe and in my experience, the best one in Alicante.
The resort is divided into two large zones. The northern area has a massive family pool with an oasis vibe — and when I say massive, I mean really massive. There’s a beach bar, private Balinese beds hidden away for a bit of quiet family time, and plenty of sunbeds.
Then there’s the southern zone, where you’ll find the water slides, the aquapark for small children, and a themed pool with animal figures for toddlers.
It’s the most fun, and the loudest area. You’ve also got a beach bar, entertainment, and everything you’d expect from a luxury family resort.
As for the food, it’s very well organised. You book your meal times through their app, which avoids overcrowding in the restaurants — and I give them a 10/10 for that. The quality and variety of the food is also excellent.
Now let’s talk about the bungalows and glamping tents. There are several types available. I had to book the most expensive one because it was the only option left and it was honestly top-notch. But they also offer more affordable ones, which are still great: private gardens, outdoor tables for relaxed meals… very well thought out.
